How do you print the images onto the metal?
Digital Holographics uses a unique method to transfer
images onto a selected variety of quality metals. During
the imaging process, a picture is imprinted onto the
metal by "dinging" small dots in the metal.
With extreme precision, these dots create several shades
of grey, making it look like a holographic black and
white photo.

How long will the image last?
Because the image is imprinted onto the metal, it will
never fade or tarnish. By simply polishing your item
with a clean cloth, it will always look like new.

Why does the metal appear so dark on some photos?
All our engravable pieces are made of the highest quality
brass core with a polished nickel or gold plated surface.
These surfaces are highly reflective, almost like a
mirror. Capturing this shine on film, however, is very
difficult. Instead of digitally alter our images, Digital
Holographics has decided to display original photos,
sometimes resulting in a darker appearance.

What's better, a digital or printed image?
When ordering from Digital Holographics, you have the
option of sending digital images (.jpg or .bmp) or mailing
your printed photograph. Since your printed photo has
to be scanned, the quality of a digital photo is generally
better. If you do mail a printed photo, expect a processing
time of approximately 7 days. The original photo will
be returned with your order.

Do your prices include the image printing?
Yes, the prices listed for our engravable items
include the image printing (one image per item). Key
chains and necklaces are standard items, and cannot
be personalized.

Can you print an image on each side of the pendant?
Yes, it is possible to have an image engraved on each
side of the pendant or key ring. There is an additional
charge for this option. You will find more information

Should I select a gold plated or nickel plated item
for my image?
Your choice of material is more a question of personal
taste, as the quality of your image is as good on gold
as it is on nickel. As you can see from our samples,
however, an image printed on a nickel plated item looks
more like a black and white photo, while the same image
printed on a gold plated item has a more golden color
spectrum.
